释义	demand deposit 活期存款又称current deposit或current account.系指无一定提取期限，当存款人需要支用时，即能迅速地转换成现金的存款帐户。可分为支票存款及活期存折存款两大类：前者通常并不支付利息，但能集中在票据交换所(*clearing house)清算，收付方便，多为工商业界乐用；後者仍支付若干利息，存款人得随时将其变现。参见：time deposit.
